The College of Engineering has been ranked in the top 20 for research and development (R&D) expenditures, ranked No. 1 for industry-funded aeronautical R&D expenditures and ranked No. 47 for best engineering schools. Our college has access to the Innovation Campus with research facilities, makerspaces, labs and more than 20 on-site companies. WSU is also home to the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) that spends $150 million annually on research.

Student enrollment for the College of Engineering is steadily growing, and recently, 5,000 students earned an impressive $26 million through on-campus internships and co-ops. Currently, 35% of undergraduate students are first-generation students, and our college is on track to become a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). We are proud of our faculty members who have developed new engineering educational methods, such as a freshman design course, Shocker Design Experience (SDX).
