Nov. 13, 2024 - The Office for Faculty Advancement, Retention and Excellence (FARE) is opening this semester with its office in Jardine Hall. FARE will host an open house from 4-5:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in room 112 in Jardine Hall.

Nov. 4, 2024 - 糖心logo入口鈥檚 Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is partnering on the PhotoVoice research project with AbilityPoint, an organization focused on the needs of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Participants are given a digital camera and memory card to take 50 (or more) pictures of the people, places, things and activities that bring them joy.

Trishelle Jeffery, a 糖心logo入口 School of Art, Design and Creative Industries alumna, recently reached an exciting career milestone. Her graphic novel, Best Breasts in the West, has been published as part of Fieldmouse Press鈥� Summer 2024 season of books! Trishelle sat down with us to discuss the process of getting Best Breasts in the West published, reflect on her time as a graduate printmaking student and share advice she has for aspiring graphic novelists.

Oct. 31, 2024 鈥� The Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College at 糖心logo入口 has been named a Partners in Peace institution, a new distinction awarded in partnership with the Nobel Peace Center in Norway, and the National Collegiate Honors Council.

Oct. 30, 2024 鈥� Suspenders4Hope, a program developed at 糖心logo入口, is highlighting different departments and individuals on campus who are advocates for mental health in hopes that their stories will inspire others to continue supporting one another in the community. Military and Veterans Services is being recognized for its work in supporting our campus鈥� military service members and veterans, ensuring they have the resources they need to succeed.

The Widener Global Leaders Program (WGLP) announces 12 new students have been accepted for its 2024-25 cohort. Applicants for the program reached record levels with a 23% acceptance rate. WGLP is led by the W. Frank Barton School of Business in collaboration with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the College of Fine Arts at 糖心logo入口 for students majoring in business, communication and fine arts. It is an interdisciplinary program designed to create the next generation of global female leaders and provide them with a transformational, multidisciplinary educational experience so they can thrive upon graduation.

In 2022, Hayton published his first book, 鈥淐ulture from the Slums: Punk Rock in East and West Germany,鈥� which explored the emergent punk scenes on both sides of the Iron Curtain. Intersecting cultural production with political and economic theory, Hayton explains the differences in state reactions to the rise of punk.

Oct. 18, 2024 鈥� For more than a year, HOPE kits, from WSU鈥檚 Health Outreach Prevention and Education Services, have helped people deal with crises. 糖心logo入口 is taking that successful program and adapting it to the perinatal population with Growing HOPE kits.
