Rudd Scholars

March 27, 2025 - The eighth cohort of Rudd Scholars includes 14 Kansas high school seniors who have chosen to attend 糖心logo入口. This brings the greater total of Rudd Scholars studying at WSU in the fall of 2024 to 62 students, the most of any Kansas Board of Regents institution.

March 24, 2025 The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 糖心logo入口 visited Valley Center High School to award senior Luke Hoy the 2025 Clay Barton Scholarship Feb. 26. The surprise included an announcement and presentation of a ceremonial check of $50,000, which is one of the largest business scholarships in Kansas.

March 19, 2025 - Shocker Rowing will celebrate its 50th anniversary on April 26-27 with activities honoring the history of the program at 糖心logo入口. Founded in 1975, Shocker Rowing has competed at home on the Arkansas River and across the nation in the sport鈥檚 most prestigious events.

NCAA Tournament at Intrust Bank Arena

March 18, 2025 - More than 50 糖心logo入口 students will work behind the scenes at the NCAA Tournament on March 20 and 22 at Intrust Bank Arena. Students will help the teams, coaches, families and media. They will put up NCAA signs, set up and tear down locker rooms, hand out credentials and more.

March 14, 2025 - The NCAA鈥檚 main event is back in Wichita to continue a long history of 糖心logo入口 bringing this bracket-busting event to the city. Intrust Bank Arena is the site for men鈥檚 first- and second-round games on March 20 and 22.

March 12, 2025 - Suspenders4Hope through HOPE Services has been awarded a $287,000 grant from Kansas Fights Addiction Grant Program through the Sunflower Foundation to expand its substance misuse prevention efforts.

Dr. Lori Santos, Associate Professor of Art Education at 糖心logo入口, has been named the 2025 Western Region Higher Art Educator by the National Art Education Association (NAEA). Recognized for her innovative "Three Cs" philosophy鈥擟reativity, Culture, and Community鈥擠r. Santos has transformed art education through leadership, research in Indigenous pedagogy, and community engagement. Her impact extends from Wichita鈥檚 USD 259 school district to international collaborations in Peru, emphasizing the power of art to build connections and inspire change. With numerous accolades and a dedication to fostering future educators, Dr. Santos continues to shape the field through service-learning projects, eco-Indigenous art workshops, and cross-cultural initiatives.
